Salient features of the department
Ø The fundamental aim is to provide pathology training and tools to improve knowledge of disease and diagnostic skills of students.
Ø The department has well furnished laboratories for clinical, cytological, molecular and histopathology diagnosis of various pathological conditions and diseases of animals and birds.
Ø Faculties are also associated with imparting technical skill and expertise to the farming communities of the state.
Ø It serves as vital center in the field of post mortem diagnosis and consultative services in the context of disease diagnosis and prevention, and control among domestic and wild animals and birds in Tripura.
Research activities:
ü A project entitled “Molecular epidemiology, pathology and antibiogram of Riemerella anatipestifer of ducks in Tripura” funded by SERB-DST, Govt. of India is presently going on in the department.
ü Diagnosis of tumor of domestic and wild animals are regularly performed in the department.
